I'm looking for ancestors of my LEBLANC and DAVID lines.
I can work my way back to David LEBLANC and his wife Marie Zulma PORCHE. They were married in September 1866, in Terrebonne Parish, I think. I have a copy of the contract but can't find it just now.
Marie Zulma PORCHE was previously married to Joseph Lajaunie and had four children, two of which died very young. I've found this family on census records. Marie Zulma was a twin sister of Marguerite Zulmee Porche. I've seen Zulma mistakenly marked as Zulmee who was married to DARCE in some census books published by Terrebonne Genealogy Society.
David LEBLANC and Marie Zulma PORCHE's eldest son was Wilfred LeBlanc m. Alida Marie Sonier (various spellings).
The children of Wilfred LeBlanc and Alida Sonier are:
Clifford LeBlanc m. Agnes LeBlanc (lived in New Orleans)
Edward LeBlanc
Harry LeBlanc m. Anna Thibodeaux (lived in New Orleans)
Unnamed twin brother of Harry who died at birth
Wilson LeBlanc m. Rita (moved to Cody, Wyoming)
Willie LeBlanc (died as a young man)
Armand LeBlanc
Ada LeBlanc m. Lynn J. Callahan
Odette LeBlanc m. John Lampley (lived in New Orleans)
Annie LeBlanc m. _______ Rogers
I'm thinking this LEBLANC line is descended from Isaac LeBlanc (b. 1760) and Marianne ARCENEAUX, m. 1786, St. James, LA.
Isaac died 25 Jan 1810, St. James, LA.
Here is my dilemma:
I've found records of two children in the Diocese of Baton Rouge books whose mother is MARGUERITE DAVID, only problem is these children are listed under the DAVID surname. They are David and Casimir, baptized on the same day. Casimir was about two years older than David.
There was a death record of Casimir Leblanc about 1942, mother Marguerite DAVID, death was at "Isaac LeBlanc's place", also in Diocese of Baton Rouge books.
Is there anyway these people can be descended through Casimir LEBLANC, b. 1899, son of Isaac LeBlanc and Marianne Arceneaux? Casimir had a twin sister, Marie Justine who died at about age 5.
Any assistance would be welcomed. Thanks so much.
edited to insert the names of Wilfred LeBlanc and Alida Marie Sonier, my father's paternal grandparents.
