Etienne Octave Barbier Born 26 Dec 1841 Assumption Parish, Louisiana Baptized Assumption Church, Plattenville, LA Died 17 Nov 1914 Louisiana Wife: Elizabeth Boudreaux He was engaged from his earliest days in the planting business. When the Civil War came, he was among the gallant Confederates that went to the defense of his country. He was a member of Company H. 28th Louisiana, under Colonel Thomas, and served throughout the war. After the Southern struggle, he returned to his home on Bayou Lafourche, and helped to carve out the present country which we now have. He was a well known and prominent citizen of Assumption Parish. He was adopted by Joseph Aucoin when his parents died. Etienne was my G.G.G. Grandfather.
